Beigang Chaotian Temple, located in Beigang Township, Yunlin County, was founded in 1694 during the Qing dynasty. Dedicated to Mazu, the Goddess of the Sea, it is one of Taiwan’s grandest temples, featuring exquisite carvings and architecture. Its annual Mazu pilgrimage and connection with the Baishatun Mazu procession make it a major center of worship and a cultural landmark in Taiwan.
